Turk Lake Canvas has always been a craft shop first — hands on material, all day, every day. Somewhere along the way we noticed how many of the people walking through our door for a boat cover or a headliner were makers themselves: jewelers, painters, woodworkers, people doing incredible work out of home studios around Montcalm County with nowhere local to show it.
So we're turning part of our Greenville space into a boutique showroom for local Michigan artists, alongside the upholstery work we've always done.
What's going in the showroom
- Handmade jewelry — necklaces, rings, and custom metalwork from local artisans.
- Original paintings and canvas work — local landscapes, lake scenes, and studio pieces.
- Small-batch decor — handcrafted pieces that don't fit neatly into a big-box shelf.
Why pair it with an upholstery shop?
Honestly, it made sense the moment we said it out loud. Both are about craftsmanship — taking raw material and turning it into something that lasts and that someone's genuinely proud to own. We already do custom canvas and metal work for boats and cars; a showroom for local art is a natural extension of the same shop, not a separate business bolted on.
Every piece in the showroom is made by someone within driving distance of the lake — not shipped in from a catalog.
We're building this out in phases and will be sharing progress here and on our social pages as the space comes together. If you're a Michigan artist interested in showing work with us, give the shop a call — we'd love to talk.
